Halfway Through the Challenge And Thankful

This weekend marks the halfway point of the A to Z Challenge. I thought I did a lot of prep work for the Challenge in the weeks before it started, but when I really analyze it, I realize I only worked on four projects and wrote about two of them.  I had good intentions...

Now it's time to put on my Ten Things of Thankful hat (I crocheted it for "H" day) and give you my thankfuls:

1. Glue-on artificial fingernails. For $5, you can get a box of about 30 of them (mine are French manicure). Can't bite these!

2. Ivy from Uncharted. She knows why.

3. I played a 1980s compilation album at preschool the other morning while the kids were doing their morning work. Ordinarily, they go get a book or puzzle and sit in the circle when their work is done, but that morning, the first child done asked if he could dance instead, and I said sure.  One by one, they all joined him, and we had an impromptu dance party. It wound them up like springs for the rest of the morning, but it was worth it!

4. Their favorite dance song was "Jump" by Van Halen.

5. I finally found a summer purse that I like. It's only taken me about seven years.

6. Charming Charlie's. Little by little, I'm buying everything on their clearance racks.

7. As I was typing this, I saw Fletcher emerge from the Kitty Fun Tent that I made for the A to Z Challenge. I had no idea anyone had been inside it, other than when Ruby explored it the first day it was made. Nice to know I haven't been stepping around it for the last few days for nothing.

8. Walgreen's. Having pictures printed doesn't get much easier.

9. Capris and flip flops weather.

10. Two Aleve before bedtime.

There's still time to join us at the Ten Things of Thankful hop. Don't make me be the last one to link up!

    1. It's an accessory store and it's awesome! They carry clothes now, too, but I haven't tried any of them. You can get necklace and earring sets for less than $15.

  2. Ooh, love that dance party. Great way to get the kids moving. I can see why Jump would be their favourite, but I have to say I was never a fan of that band.
Love the open toed shoe weather we're starting to see, even if I risk scarring my toes badly before winter rolls around again.
    :-)
I got in under number 20 this week, but still I can't get it in any earlier than Sunday. Extra problamatic computer issues were part of the reason this week, but therer is likely always going to be a reason.
    :-)
    Have a wonderful week.

    1. Yesterday, I played Footloose for them and danced with them and I was WORN OUT!
I love being able to wear sandals and flip flops! We've been able to wear them since March this year, with such an early spring, and we can wear them through most of October.
I was dead last. But I made it!

  3. isn't it amazing when you find the one....THEEEEEE one purse?! My husband doesn't get it. It's also like finding the one pair of shoes. I found mine but they were like a bazillion dollars. I bought them when I did my Listen To Your Mother Show. I felt guilty for the purchase so I returned them after the show. I did. I have regretted it ever since. And I seriously look for them still. Sigh...the ones that got away.
It is a lovely purse! I dig the colour!
I miss Aleve. I can't take that medication anymore because it interacts with another one I take. Sad panda.

    1. AND IT WAS ONLY $25! Even if it falls apart after one year, at least I didn't spend much on it. And I LOVE the color! Hopefully it won't clash terribly with my clothes, because I'm not one to change purses with outfits (obviously, since it took so long to find one I liked!).
I once gave myself an ulcer by taking Aleve, eating Hot Tamales and drinking Diet Coke simultaneously. Neverrrrr again!

  4. Why is finding a good summer bag so hard??? I never like my summer ones but yours is cuuuute.
Love the dance party, too. So cute.
    That's a lot of cute.
I was sure I made it in last this week, but I saw you and Kerry and Marisa in there right after me. Good company!

    1. Do you have Charming Charlies stores? They have tons of purses!
I only have one boy who is too cool to dance with us.
Me. Dead last. Great co-host, huh?

  5. believe it or not, I was a total fan of alternative-not-really-shoes footwear, at least back in the day (aka high school)... I would wear zoris (local term for flip flops) enough during the summer to acquire the deceptively difficult ability to run in them and, then with school I took up wearing sandal (which was ok it still be the 1960s)
I really should revisit the look.

    1. No black socks with the sandals, please.

    2. I'm with Val. No black socks, but conversely, if you are sockless, then you better not have gnarly, ugly feet if you're going to wear sandals.

  6. I love the way Charming Charlie's is organized by color. So much fun. Flip flops yesterday and maybe today here (finally, it's April for goodness sakes). Aleve has alleviated many an ache and pain for me. Two more weeks of the Challenge. You are rocking it.

    1. Me, too! I can walk in there knowing I need a certain color necklace and actually find it. Aleve is a wonder drug. And thank you! You're rocking the A to Z too!

  7. Your nails look great! How long do they stay on?
The impromptu dance party sounds fabulous! I think kids need that from time to time, especially in a school setting :)
Very nice choice on the purse! Why is it so difficult to find purses/bags that we like?! I am very picky when it comes to such things myself.
Hope you're having a lovely week so far!

    1. I would like to say they usually stay on close to a week before they start pinging off, but I've lost three today. I carry a little bottle of nail glue with me in my purse so I can stick them back on. If I don't lose one, I can usually wear a set for close to two weeks.
I didn't think I was that picky until I started looking for purses. I have to have a shoulder bag. The strap has to be long enough that I can put it on my shoulder without my elbow catching on the bag. It has to zip or have a flap that keeps the top closed. Needs several little pockets. Has to be big enough for my wallet to go in and out without struggle, but not so big as to hold everything and the kitchen sink, because I'll put everything and the kitchen sink in it.

  8. Bless your boots, you were last because Jeanine missed it! LOVE the purse, and I don't think 7 years is too long - you just know what you want, right?

    1. Pretty good for plastic nails, huh?
I've created dancing monsters. They want to do it every day now!
It's been rainy this week, so no capris and no flip flops. Sad.
      Loving the purse!
Thank you! I always, always love getting comments from you!!!
