Be All That You Can Be: I went to visit a childhood friend and almost joined the army by mistake.
F is for Far--, Uh, Flatulence: Imagine an organ recital while at a restaurant.
J is for Jesse James: My mother popped off with this little story about our family tree, leading me to wonder what other gems she might have up her sleeve.
L is for Lost: Just me, my husband, and a dead body.
P is for Picher: The largest Superfund Site in U.S. History is located just miles from where I live. I have been fascinated with the story for years.

I know I'm not FRIST… but my YChrome insists that I try….
ReplyDeleteFRIST! 2015 total FRIST Master…. (insert audio: 'boo yah!!'* fist pump optional)
ok…favorite Post of 2014? P is for Picher…. interesting (for clarks) excellent photos (for the scotts) and poignant and meaningful (for the rogerian readers)… somethin for everyone
(hopefully this one comes through…having trouble leaving the comments, being the stubborn bastard that I can be…this is about the 7th Comment that I'm hitting Publish on…. feel free to edit as you wish)
* Al Pacino of course
YOU ARE SO TOTALLY FRIST!
DeleteI really like the one about Picher, too. It is such an eerie place. And such a horrible thing to do to the people who lived there and to the Indian nation that owned the land.
Your Al Pacino impression is spot-on....
Since I didn't put a photo of us in my year-end roundup, I won't be offended that you didn't include my visit to KC. :)
ReplyDeleteI went back and read some, thinking "how did I miss this the first time?" Then saw that I had left a comment. It appears I have even less memory than I thought.
These weren't my 12 favorite things I wrote about, but the 12 posts I thought included some of my best writing. Were it the former, our post would definitely be there!
DeleteSometimes I don't remember writing this stuff....
Your stories are hilarious. I loved the ones about you getting lost. With and without the dead body.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Andrea! I guess not everyone has a story about being lost with a dead body in the car.
DeleteI cannot pick just one! Looking forward to reading about your adventures in 2015. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kristi! Happy New Year to you!
DeleteI liked your Jesse James story.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marcy! I can't believe I never knew the story until this year.
DeleteWhat a great year! I can't wait to read about 2015...
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope plenty of topics present themselves in 2015.
DeleteBeen thinking about you a lot....
Learning new facts about family is always so much fun! Each time we get together with Richard's family, there's another hilarious story :-)
ReplyDeleteI've got to write down more family stories! My grandfather farmed with a team of horses and a plow. If I don't get these details written down, they'll be lost forever.
Delete7? 7 what? I'm so confused!
ReplyDeleteHow in the world had I missed the first three?! So wrong! ~May
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you read them, May!
DeleteWonderful year and sum-ups, as well. So funny how you summed them up. Love the photos, too. I can't pick a fave yet, because I haven't read them all... but I will! Hope you 2015 is just as good! Visiting here from MakaKat’s Losin’ It!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa! I am behind in my weekly hosting duties of Ten Things of Thankful, but as soon as I get caught up there, I am heading over to Mama Kat's to check out all the workshop posts.
DeleteTWO puppies! They're so so hard, but doubly adorable!
ReplyDeleteI thought guinea pigs were the only animal that pooped and peed more than they actually ate; that is, until we had the puppers.
