One of my favorite books is "A Bargain For Frances" by Russell Hoban. In it, Frances learns a hard lesson on backsies from her friend, Thelma.
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2012, I found I now had my own "Thelma," and there would be no backsies here, either. This is my story of my diagnosis of breast cancer and life thereafter. Since I'd rather laugh than cry (I look hideous when I cry), I have chosen to carry on with my usual optimistic, glass-half-full disposition and continue to look for the silver lining in every situation, only feeling sorry for myself occasionally.
