Q is for Quackish

Q is not exactly the easiest letter to base a post on, but when you've further limited yourself by replicating Pinterest pins and writing about them, it gets even harder.

I had a hard time of it finding something interesting to do for "D". Nothing was appealing to me, and I had almost resigned myself to drawing a picture of a duck from a pin I found (my friend Melissa, who tried my "D" project of doughnut waffles, said I probably should have gone with drawing a duck) when this pin came up:

Quick. Easy. 

The only materials really necessary to create a quack were a solo cup, a piece of string, hot glue, and a piece of sponge. I personally had an issue with using a red solo cup for a duck, like the pinner did, so it was fortunate that I had gray solo cups in my cabinet.

I poked a hole in the bottom of the cup (which has now become the top of the project) and fed the string down through it, leaving just enough to tie a knot at the top (or the bottom) of the cup and secured it with hot glue. Then I tied the piece of sponge to the other end of the string.

At this point, it was just a solo cup with a sponge hanging from a string attached to it, so I added a little embellishment to make it more ducky.

Per the instructions, I got the sponge damp but not wet, and my duck was ready to quack. Watch the video:
