Friends who began as on-line friends and ended up as Real Life friends.
Having one of those friends call you when you're on a long, solo road trip and keep you company for over an hour and a half.
Rental cars with cruise control and automatic windows, because, believe it or not, SOME people manage to rent cars with neither (and it wasn't me).
Weird cloud formations, captured through a bug-spattered windshield.
Possibly an alien portal.... |
The Pope's visit to America. I'm not even Catholic, but I was especially moved by the multi-faith ceremony at the World Trade Center on Friday.
The Brit's visit to America. I know visiting my corner of the world wasn't as exciting as many of the other places she visited, but it meant a lot to me to get to show it to her.
Ruby, who is happy to see me whether I've been gone for three days or three minutes.
Lap time after I left her for three hours. |
Friday Night Lights and a big win at homecoming, and homecoming dances that make me forget how annoyed I was during the dress shopping.
It's supposed to say UNDER the sea, but I just see UDDER. |
Well, they make a pretty cute couple |
Super Moons that light up the night.
Rare lunar eclipses that, even though they are too shy for the camera, glow red and lovely and have us standing outside on our sidewalk in the dark, where we can hear voices throughout the neighborhood from other people doing the same thing.
Believe it or not, it isn't too late to link up this week! Don't make me be the last one!

Lizzy seems like the type of person who can bring excitement with her wherever she goes.
ReplyDeleteI did catch a glimpse of the eclipse last night. I know my dad commented on it. He said he was going to make sure he saw it since the next one wasn't for so long he probably wouldn't be around. I asked him if he was sure about that because he was looking pretty damn healthy to me.
I bet I know who that was… no automatic windows!?!! do they make cars without that feature anymore?
ReplyDeletenoce camera work with the hole in the sky photo
Ms. Rogers Tours the Colonies… fun
(hey that Vanessa gets up earlier than I do…I've been about an hour behind her on Comments this morning and I started at, like, 5:55)
yeah… get back to the Six we missed the ( and then…. surprise endings)
A great list and the Pope is a wonderful human spirituality leader, no matter what faith we are. Loved the photos of the Brit in St. Louis and I do think you have found a portal to the future. Have a good week. Hope your Mom feels better and the Volleyball not so frustrating. Emma looked adorable - love the shoes.
ReplyDeleteAutomatic windows are good, until the button gets stuck. Like, for instance, you roll down the driver window to pay for parking, and the window will not roll back up. And you are in Utah during a snowstorm and have to drive 800 miles home to California. Then you wish for roll-up windows. (And you keep a piece of duct tape over the switch to remind you to never, ever do that again!) Yes, true story--why do you ask? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI hope your mom's health issues resolve soon.
I was right there with you at the last minute, Dyanne!
ReplyDeleteSaw your Lizzi visit pics and Homecoming on FB - all great things. I'm so sorry I couldn't spend time with Lizzi (or anyone else). Boo. Just bool.
I just got my Six in today - couldn't resist, I guess.
Hope your Mom feels better and Volleyball settles down. Hang in there!
My car has roll up windows.... Hope mom is feeling better... Glad you weren't abducted by those aliens and were able to post!
ReplyDeletei tried to leave a comment at lunch today...
ReplyDeleteI hope your mom feels better soon and Volleyball settles down too..

the super moon and the eclipse were awesome
I saw the pics with Lizzi so much fun.
The Pope visit was beautiful...witnessing so many people praying was humbling...I was in awe.
have a wonderful week
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the moon!
Both Lizzi and the Pope. Wow.
ReplyDelete:-)
Maybe too much for one country to handle at one time?
Both worthy of note.
And who doesn't love a "super moon"?
:-)
I love it.
